Anyone have an auto stop eliminator code. They’re 90$ right now with free shipping. Thinking about pulling the trigger

F150FORUM worked when I purchased mine a few months ago. I went with the model that plugs into the diagnostic port. Great product!

I think I used that same code and it worked too. I did the in-dash version with no problems (small helper hands can help some but not necessary). Totally worth every penny!

Supposed to be super easy. There are a few videos on how to install. Use code f150forum to save 15%.

$76.50 out the door for the in dash unit.

It's really easy. I watched a couple YouTube videos and installed mine about a mile away from the dealership in a Wendy's parking lot. Love it!

Used the code!! Still works! Thanks guys. If you did the in dash did you need the plastic pry bars? I don’t have plastic ones I’m considering a set though

Its worth getting them for a couple bucks off of Amazon for any and all fastener removal you may do. (Amazon shipping probably wont hold you up). But you can get it done with a little extra care without them.

I heard how everyone hates auto stop on here since joining. It’s not been something that annoys me. What about it bothers you guys?
Simple answer...wear and tear on the starter, battery, and ignition systems. It also will turn off the A/C while it’s stopped at a light. It saves droplets of fuel per tank. Easier to turn it off and leave it off through FORScan than have to replace the starter and battery. They say they parts are built to hold up but.....I don’t trust them.

For me, it's just the fact that it feels unnatural for the engine to cut off like that. I haven't had it in a car before now so I'm just not used to it. I do have an opinion on the mechanical side of it but that is not what drove me to install the eliminator.

I’ve had other cars with auto start stop and the Lincoln implementation is smoother/less intrusive. Doesn’t bother me at all. I find GM’s cylinder deactivation much more intrusive and annoying.

The wear and tear angle seems silly. Internal combustion engines are ancient technology and building a starter to handle start/stop isnt hard. And what’s a replacement...$175?

Turning auto start/stop off is free so I guess I don’t need to spend that $175 to replace that starter. To each their own, the more they complicate the plumbing the easier it is to clog the drain.

Does it even use the regular starter? I haven’t heard it kick in when it happens. When hybrids came out years ago the started the gas engine back up when needed with some little motor in the cam area.

I installed the autostop eliminator today; 20 min job. Struggled a bit to get the top tray off but was a piece of cake once that was off.

I did the plug in module from 4DTech.

as for why I hate the start/stop...because it’s not very smooth and in my case I felt it could help cause a minor accident. Like when I’m pulling into my garage if I were to pull in just a touch short of where I want and cause the engine to quit, when I lift my foot back up the vehicle could lurch forward more than I would like, and cause me to run into the storage racks I have in front of it. That extra lurch isn’t a problem when driving, when when inches matter it’s more trouble than helpful.

plus I didn’t buy the biggest vehicle on the market I could because I wanted good gas mileage.

You may want to get it checked...it for sure shouldn’t lurch.

mine only turns off if I fully depress on the brake and if I let off the brake it starts and stays in place until I touch the gas.
