Backseat driver side power window only goes up

I noticed back a few months ago that my power window in the backseat on the driver side stopped working (it was fully rolled up and I was not able to roll it down). Unfortunately, personal life took over and I never had the time to properly diagnose it. However, I finally got around to checking it out these past couple of weeks.

At first I thought it was the motor that was blown, since there was no noise from it no matter which buttons I pressed, so I opened the side up (the foam I mentioned in my previous post was just water-protection, carefully cut it off so that it can be put on again). I removed the motor and tried it directly on the battery, and it worked flawlessly in both directions. After that I checked the power to the contact of the motor and turns out that there is only power in one direction (up). I manually pushed the window down while the motor was removed, and then reinstalled it. Rolling the window up worked perfectly fine once the motor was in place again.

Here is a list of other things that I tried:

• Tried the backseat button in the front passenger seat, there it worked fine
• Tried buying a new button for the backseat (just for the heck of it, only $8 on Amazon), did not change the situation
• Swapped the backseat motor with the front passenger seat one, did not change the situation

In other words: the motor clearly works fine, and so does the button too. The only thing I haven't tried it switching out the master panel by the driver seat, so ordered a new one of those that should come in on Monday. I'm not sure how the wiring is done, all I know is that for the window to be able to be controlled, the button by it has to be connected. But maybe everything goes via the master as well.

Does anyone have any advice on what could be wrong? Or how the wiring is done?

Thank you so much, I could access the 03 one and track down that it seems like the E connector is dead (since that is the one that is only used for down). I can't access the 02 one, it says I have to be logged in, even though I am, and even if I do log in again, it keeps saying I need to be logged in. Wanna try uploading it again?

If the motor works and also works from the front switch your problem has to do with the rear switch.

Time to check the switch with a multi meter volt and ohms

Thanks, got it and looked at it. So the window can be rolled up both from the front and the back, but not down from either. Judging by the schematics, if the switch itself in the front is broken (the one for the backseat driver side window), it could cause an issue like this. Once I get the new master switch tomorrow I will open the driver side up and check things out. I'll check if the wiring to the back is whole with a multimeter as well as if the new master works. It's gotta be either one. I'm gonna pray that it has nothing to do with the wiring since that would be a hassle to find and fix.

Got the replacement master panel today and it solved my problem (like I guessed based on the schematics). The window goes up and down perfectly fine now. Thanks for all your help Bedrck47, I'll keep everything you sent for future reference.
