Badge residue

The '07 is dropping her badges; doesn't look bad on the black body but they're leaving behind residue I can't remove. I've tried wax, Palmolive, and prayer - no luck. Can anyone advise how to remove the badge glue?

Goo Gone! Works very well if all the spongy part of the tape is removed first.

Yea, some of the sticky stuff remains and wont come off; don't know what the hell it is - tape, glue...

i took mine off and goo be gone still worked with the tape that didnt come off clean...good stuff...remember to buff/polish afterwards...i didnt yet just going to get truck repainted so i really dont care but if someone looked good they can still see "EXPEDITION" from the shade difference of having it there for 6 yrs

Try WD-40 or try Deep Creep by Seafoam. I've had good use outta both when removing pinstriping or badges.

Bug and Tar remover worked wonders for me on the sticky stuff. Sprayed it on, let it soak, then it wiped right off with a little pressure.

Thanks everyone. Got Goo Gone and it took off the little pieces of adhesive; however, I see that theres some slight paint damage and it looks like crap without the emblem (looks like the emblem was right up against the paint and the entire area has a cloudy appearance - you definitely see something is missing from spot), even after washing and waxing. So I'm going to put the emblem back on since its in good condition. Will alcohol get the emblem clean of existing residue and can I use double-sided tape to reattach?
As you can tell, I'm mechanically inclined just enough to find my car in a parking lot; imagine if this were a "real" issue.

try buffing it out before you put the badge back on. You can go to the store and buy the stuff your self or find a local detailer who does paint correction and have them fix it.

thats why i said..."remember to buff/polish afterwards"...because of that...i dont care cause its "not that noticeable" unless you have an eye for things of that nature...my prob will be solved when i repaint...buff it, wax it...call it good.

So humor me,

What would be a product you guys recommend for buff/polish? I'm using Meguiar's wax and it aint doing crap. If i could get the area cleaned up enough, I wouldnt put the emblem back on.

another option is find a body shop and ask them if they can wet sand and polish it up... a good body man can make a lot of stuff disappear without paint... trust me many "opps" from offroading hidden by my buddy that owns a body shop...
