I need some help here. I did my 03 expedition front brakes yesterday, and plan on doing the rears this weekend. The fronts went fine , but when i pulled the caliper off the banjo spring fell off, i couldn't get it back in place. I did what most would do and take referce from the other side right? When looking there that one popped off as well. I had to get
the brakes on , but plan on going for it again this weekend after the rears are done and all the tools are out once again. Can anyone help me with a idea of how to put those springs back in place? I hooked the one end on the pad but couldnt get the other side attached. Maybe a picture would help. I searched the forums and could see it be referenced to but no pics or a detailed description of how it goes back in. Also what is the purpoise of the spring anyway?

follow-up to spring install

I talked with a neighbor who has a brother that owns a high performance mustang shop here in so. cal called MMR. He looked at it and could not figure it out either. He went on the internet and found a guy that posted pictures ( real good quality ) that are step by step the whole way. After finding the spring clip installation part. I was attempting to install the springs with the caliper OFF the rotor. The picture shows them bieng installed in place with the caliper ON. I put the caliper on and had easy access to where the spring installs according to the picture and it went together perfectly. I also double checked the other side nand it was installed right.

Job completed , springs in.

This is the link to the site with the pictures of the whole process in case someone ends up needing it.
