Hi Guys

I've got a 97 Expedition that just had the Battery light go on... what do I look for first? Alternator charging or bad battery?

Thanks Steve

Make sure connections at back of alternator are clean and tight. You can check voltage at back of the alternator to see if it is charging but it's even easier to head to your local Autozone and have them hook a VAT tester up to it. I don't think they charge for it and it will tell you in seconds what the issue is. Keep in mind, if it's far from our house and the alternator is dead, your Expe will be running on the battery power only! Drive with no accessories on, no a/c, no lights, no radio, no nuthin. If the battery dies, you will be stuck. Good luck. Dan
