Beeping in the rear cargo area

2004 Eddie Bauer Expedition. In the rear cargo area, driver's side, just forward of the cup holder there is a black module on the panel (removed the cup holder to see this module) that is beeping somewhat like a clock. Has anyone had a similar problem. Didn't find anything related while searching the threads.

Think I have found the problem. It's the backup sensor. For some reason it is beeping slowly.

My bkp sensor went nuts ever since I installed the hitch ball. Guess the shiny ball reflects sunlight into the sensors or something. Beeps like crazy as soon as I put the truck in reverse lol.
