With the stock muffler approx 24" long, how much quieter would a Maggy 24" be compared to the 18" maggy? I like the Maggy sound, but it might be a bit too loud for my wife and I thought the 24" Maggy might do the trick.

24" long for stock? I thought they were 32". Maybe that's only for the F150s.

Go to performancepeddler.com and enter these part numbers
12276 for a 24"
12246 for a 18"

From what I understand, a 24" will sound like stock, but with a little but rumble. I've posted vids of start up with my 18", but I guess I need to post in-cab vids, as well drive by. The only problem is that I have a CAI, so that may contribute to some extra sound :p

The 12276 (31") has the 24" body, and that is what I measured, not including the flanges or in/out connectors. I just want a slightly deeper rumble at idle and normal driving and a more agressive rumble at WOT.

Really, I don't know what to tell you. I don't want to say "get the 24" body " and you end up unhappy because you don't notice it.

But then, I don't want to tell you "get the 18" one" and have it be too loud for the wifey.

In my opinion, I'd just get the 18". Really, I think my CAI made the Expy louder than the Maggy. I want to go a little louder. Granted what's loud for me may not be loud to someone, and vice-versa.

Or you could get the 24", and take some video so that we know what a 24" sounds like, cuz I've never heard one. I keep hearing it's rather quiet (read stock-sounding), which is probably why not many people get one.
