In my last SUV I got the weather tech mats. In this car I got the Ford All weather mats. I like the cargo mat from ford because it goes up and down with the 3rd row seats. In my last car I had solid mats for when the 3rd row was down and a smaller mat for when the 3rd row up. That was a pain because I had to store the other mat in my garage. We ski a lot so, having a solid mat to put your wet boots on is a must have. I don't like the Ford mats for the front and middle rows. There are larger gaps than you got with the weather tech. If it was me, I would get the Ford cargo mats and the weather tech for the passenger cabins.

Agree that Ford's first and second row mats are not very good. At least, they are bad enough that until I pulled ours, I'd assumed they were not from Ford and was surprised when I got them into the sunlight and saw that they were! I'm not sure if Ford even makes one for the Third row but can't imagine it being any better.

The issue is not unique to the Expy either. The Ford mats on my 2024 Maverick are also not great for the front. Second row is decent but not as good as it should be coming from Ford.

We bought this mat set for the cargo area on our Expy and it's great. Everything stays covered, seats up or down. Ford's might be better but this is cheaper, fits great and does the job. I'll post a photo of them for others when I get to it next.

I have the weather techs in my 2022 and I absolutely hate them. It’s supposed to be a great fit and I got them for my 22 when the 22 first came out, it said it fit but I was hesitant due to the slight redesign but bought them anyways. I have never been able to use the tilt and slide with the seats without them getting hung up on the floor mat. If there’s anyone that has a set of these all weather mats that fit great and you can use the tilt & slide, I’ll buy them like immediately. We have 3 kids so use the back row and using the tilt and slide to get to them is so obnoxious with the mat.
I'm assuming you have bench seats and that's why the Tilt & Slide is so important? Technically I think the Captain's chairs also do this. I'm not sure because we've never even thought about it but if mine do, then I'll let you know if the Oedro's interfere. I doubt they would, they lie pretty flat.

I actually have captains but two kids in car seats in the back, most of the time they can buckle themselves but it’s inevitable that we’re late and I don’t want to wait around, or they fall asleep so I have to get them out and tilt and slide would be easier than fold down.

@ktreem Tilt & Slide works for me without issue. The chairs didn't get caught on the mats at all. I have manual T&S though so if you have power perhaps that might be different? I have a video I can send if you DM me your email, site won't let me upload it and apparently doesn't like animated GIFs either.

We have had Smartliners in our last 3 Expeditions. Been very happy with them.

I appreciate that - but I trust that it works for you! Looks like the custom fit ones that I need are only $168 for the full three rows & trunk so I just bought those. Hoping they work so I can toss the weather techs! Thanks

I second Smartliner/Maxliner. They are way better than Weathertech for feel and cleanliness. Weathertech seems to absorb the stains where Smartliner/Maxliner repel, as well as they have a sheen to them, instead of the dull look. Their fit for the 4th Gen Expedition is 100% perfect, whether it is a bench 2nd row or buckets. Mine are buckets and the mat fits perfect.

I experimented with taking the one-piece second and third row floor mat out today. It wasn’t fun.

I am already thinking about ponying up for the Husky mats. Would appreciate real world in vehicle photos if you have the time @TonyR0206. They don’t need to be clean. Dirty is in many ways better!
I just got a front floor set of Husky's. Very happy with them. Have always bought WeatherTech in the past, but the Husky's were $20 bucks cheaper and free shipping from Amazon or Husky if you buy them from their web site.
Only got the fronts as rear is used only occasionally and the Ford rears do a decant job.
Would definitely recommend the Husky's.
AND.....NO, they do NOT smell....no odor at all....
