Question, has anyone blacked out the chrome trim that runs underneath the windows all the way around on the stealth edition? I have a Max that’s been built waiting on shipment. I’m wondering if the 25’ roll off of Amazon will work, or if I need the 50’ roll.

I'm looking into it currently for my Limited Stealth and measured approx 30 feet of chrome on 3 sides. Max would need the 50 foot roll for sure. I've read its best to use the 3M #2080 tape as it has a protective film over the tape to protect it while working and that you remove when done. My biggest concern is working around the mirrors. I'm not wanting to take the doors apart to remove those and not sure I trust an installer to do it either.

On my white Stealth, you don't even notice the chrome, IMO. I feel it is much more noticeable on the darker painted models.

This is how it will look.

Definitely need the 50' roll. The most difficult part is the side back trim which curves around the back. 2080 film is very good and very flexible. I pre-cut the film and did not have to cut down the horizontal length of the trim. Just make sure you have an accurate width to use - I can measure the exact size if anyone would like.

Sorry dumb question but couldn’t a person just get a 5’x5’ roll and just cut strips? Just trying to wrap my head around a 50’ roll

Probably but if you're even a little off on measurements of each strip it'll be noticeable and why make more work and room for error when a single cut for each piece will do? I suppose if you have another immediate use for the remainder of that 5x5 roll it may be worth it but otherwise I'd pass.

Sorry I guess I should have asked, I’m guessing that’s not a 50’x5’ roll? I can only buy here is Canada 5’ by whatever

I purchased on Amazon. It's a 50' by 2" roll. I used gloss black. I cut the length about 3" longer than each section required. I then used a straight edge and cut a 1 1/4" wide strip. I used the factory 3m cut at the top of the trim then worked my way about 6" at a time. Just be patient and don't worry about trying to do it all at one time. Happy with the results.

Do you have a link to the product?

I bought the Black Vinyl from Amazon also (2inch x 50ft) in Gloss. It was really easy. Just do it. It looks better with it black. I did the chrome all the way around the windows and also did the top and bottom of the front grill. Now I just need to black out the Ford emblems.
