In a heavy rain yesterday then again today the blind spot mirrors stopped working. Shut the truck off and restarted and they worked, no message, seemed fully functional. Drove it a couple of miles received the same message and they failed again. This morning worked fine this afternoon more thunder storms and they failed with the same message. On failure, the little indicator on the mirrors light up and stay on. Also the mirrors fold in when shutdown. Any thoughts? Have warranty but would rather not go to the dealer as this week is real busy.

I have seen heavy rain - in Florida no less - shut down driving aids. Not common, but possible. I've seen it more with the ACC module.

The BSM modules are behind the rear bumper skin. I would see if you can look up there and check to see that it's clear of debris. Follow that up with the harness connections are tight (unlikely the cause). Otherwise, it may be that wall of water is just dense enough to trigger it, or the amount getting splash up there as well.

Thanks Hilly! There is a TSB on them. Going to swing by the dealer and see if they have the parts and make a appointment to have it done. Having those indicators on the mirrors illuminated constantly in the rain is a distraction especially at night.
