2 problems... My first problem would be that it seems that my AC/Heater only works on the high setting. 2nd problem is when I turn my AC/Heater on the high setting there is a loud noise that comes from underneath the glove box. I would like help to pinpoint the exact problem before spending money on parts for the wrong part. Any help would be appreciated. I have an 03 Expy XLT.

it would help if you gave the year and model and any other information about your expy. Having that information will help others give you information specific to your expy.

It also help to have that information in a signature line

The front heater blower motor is located under the dash passenger side.
The noise you are most likely hearing is the motor's bearings are shot or something is in the fan blades. The blower motor resistor assembly is also located in the same area as the blower motor. Would suggest that you remove both and check them.

Blower/Resistor

I was familiar with the resistor and where it was located. My only other question would be. . . How am I suppose to get to the blower motor? I thought I would get lucky and remove my battery and get to it there, but of course that would be to easy. I did find it behind my glove box enclosed inside another box. Is the only was to get to it is by removing my whole dash? Please tell me there is an easier way? Step by step instructions or a web link would be greatly appreciated. I tried doing my own research on it but everything that comes up is for Explorer's and not Expeditions.

I don't think that'll work. The blower is inside the dash right behind the Resistor. I was messing with it earlier today and once I removed my resistor I can look inside and see the blower fan. I shouldn't have to move any carpet around or even mess with anything on the floor board.

also were you able to test the blower to see if that was what was causing the noise

The instructions you gave did work. the blower motor came out from directly underneath the dash. it was a very tight fit so I did have to pull the carpet back in order to have more room to play with. The fan on the motor had a lot of play in it causing it to move a lot when turned on the only thing I can think of where the noise was coming from was the blades hitting something when turned on cause of the play in it.

Had an issue similar where mine only worked on HI so replaced the blower motor resistor for $26 and a 4 minute youtube "how-to" video... that will most likely fix the the LOW settings and allow you to select different blower speeds. :)
