I'm going to swap out the stock muffler on my 03 5.4 for a Borla Turbo XL (40665) next week. It's already ordered, just waiting on it to arrive. Anyone have this already or any other Borla muffler?

For anyone interested I got the Borla muffler installed today and it sounds great. A nice increase in sound over stock but not too loud and absolutely no drone. Sounds awesome when you get on it. I had a big grin on my face leaving the muffler shop. Great setup for a family vehicle which is what I was looking for since I have a couple young kids.

It will get a little louder after a few hundred miles (packing settling) but still no drone. Enjoy!

I didn't used to mind it but with two kids under 2 years old and regularly taking 7 hour road trips it can be a bit much. I used to have a Charger R/T with two Flowmaster Super 44's that droned like crazy but I loved the sound.

Sounds like a good choice. I know some guys who have the Borla mufflers and they sound ok.

the drone shouldnt disturb the kids to where they cant sleep or anything else...its proven that you should act as normal and not quiet the house when its time for them to sleep...if not...the slightest noise disturbs them and then parents have to tip=toe around being quiet...no diff when im deployed...in that area i sleep sound during heavey helicopter and inbound/outbound and aircraft noise...when its quiet...cant sleep...if they get accustomed to the noise you can do stuff while they sleep
