I am trying to decide what would make my headlights brighter. I checked halogen lightbulbs, but brightest seem to last only a couple of month (Sylvania Ultra White, I think) while costing around $50. LED lights get low review for quality for $100 +. I looked to either replace the headlights (20 years +) with the OEM (around $60 for a pair), or install an upgrade (around $85-$95 for a pair).

Has anybody done this for under $100, and what are your recommendations?

Yes $60 LEDs Amazon Hirikaris are what I bought. Been a couple of years though but they are so superior to standard bulbs I put them in all my vehicles(4). Technology continues to get better though so I would look at reveiws from an Led headlight reviewer. They are so much better even in standard housings and as long as you aim them right you should be good

Is it possible that 20-year old reflectors just dimmed with age?

I’m pretty sure they do. I want to say I’ve seen them like that on amazon

Well, I installed these headlights and the low beams are brighter than my factory high beams!!! Thanks for the tip - these are perfect! I would absolutely recommend them. AND they came with the halogen bulbs already installed!!! Thanks again!
