Been a life long Ford fan. Now having 2nd thoughts on my decision. I own currently a 08 expedition and a 07 fusion have given lots of $$ to Ford and there service departments. The paint on my lift hatch currently has a 5 in hole where paint fell completely off. Lots of other places where paint is bubbling on hatch alone as well as hood. Brought to Ford they took pictures and sent images to Corporate and came back and stated truck is over 5 years old and since no hole in metal we will not cover or help with the expenses of getting this fixed. I find this very unacceptable. I paid over 40000 for this vehicle and this is the quality of workmanship and customer service is garbage. I love my fords don't get wrong but this has me fuming. Ive even called the customer service number 18003933673 and was told cant do anything to help you sir. But if you pay to get repaired yourself save your receipt there may be a recall and you could possibly get reimbursed WTF is that. Ford knows this is a problem and has yet to rectify I urge all expedition owners to call # I posted and say doing same thing from what I have read 06-11 are all doing and not prejudice to what model it is xlt limited eddie bauer.

I noticed some bubbling on the inside of my rear cargo hatch. I just assumed that it was from the environment (former NY State Expy) and salt on the roads in winter.

My 07 has it, liftgate and hood, several spots on 'drip edges' that you can't help but notice.

Get comments from all sorts of random people about it all the time: "What the heck is going ON with your Ford's paint!?!?!?"

Kinda makes one think about that aluminum F150 . . .

My 07 has it around the lift gate glass and noticed a spot on the lift gate near the tag yesterday.

Don't feel bad, my '12 KR has a little on the bottom edge of the hood, some on the back passenger side of the hood, and a little on the bottom of the back hatch. Only 2 years old and 24000 miles. Waiting to see if it gets any more before my B2B goes out in 12000 miles

Have a 2010 and the leading edge of hood has bubbles, just waiting for them to pop for the rest to appear. Rear hatch, on the inside also has paint that has peeled off. The paint appears to be substandard. Will reach out to ford to see what they will do for me, and it's time to make some noise. Starting to rethink my ford loyalty.

^^^ +1

Agreed with comment above regarding the F150. I have an inkling of some payback. Create YouTube video with all our 2003-2010 Expeditions aluminum tailgates, hoods and other locations showing the galvanic corrosion. And that the new F150 will have a paint curse. Insane corrosion and paint problems based in this track record.

Ford deserves to get a beating because they WILL NOT replace or fix the DEFECTIVE design of these components. Almost 10 years and the same problem happens. Insane. Maybe Boeing airplanes under Mullany before he came to Ford will be crashing any day. Seems like he has no idea how to work with aluminum.

Maybe if they lose about 300k sales a year of the new F150 because of our visibility, they might take care of us.

My 2003, always garaged and salt free since I got it new, has galvanic corrosion and paint peaking wherever their is aluminum, steel and water. Hood is ok (I have had a deflector since new). The tailgate is a mess.

I have head that as late at 2012 there are problems.
