You might try McGuire's Plastic Cleaner. It is supposed to clean headlights and tail lights. The bug deflector is close to the same plastic compound. Just a thought.

Mother's makes a new plastic restoration kit, comes with special sand paper and polish compounds. I was at a car show and saw it demonstrated and it works great. They explain the problem as the top layer of plastic has gone bad and no amount of polish will bring it back. You have to actually remove the top layer and then use the various grits of polish to bring back the clarity and shine.

Here is the kit:

^ That's more for headlights.

I've used M105 polish on my parent's F250. Brought the deflector right back. Granted, this was done by machine and a white Lake Country pad.

Yes it's for "plastic" headlights, should be equally effective on the deflector which I believe is also lexan plastic. Depends on how weathered and dull it is I guess.

I already have a bug shield now but it looks dull and I plan to replace it now. If it is still available send it to me now and I will shoulder the shipping fee.
