Hello does my 2012 Expedition XLT have a cabin air filter? If so where is it located. Thanks

It does not.

But I regularly see part numbers listed for 07+ Expeditions, which understandably causes some confusion. Nothing under the cowl, nothing under the dash. Not a Limited or King Ranch or Navigator option or feature that could be retrofitted. Regardless of regular or XL length, there isn't one for the front or rear HVAC units.

Our Expeditions cousin, the Lincoln Navigator has a cabin air filter under the glove box so the parts stores just probably assumed that the Expeditions has one also. Those sillies

I'm glad the Expeditions don't have one. My wife's 2009 Mazda 6 has one; in fact, it has the exact same one that came with the vehicle in 2009. lol :p

Do you know if the filter used in the Navigator can be retrofitted to a 2015 Expedition?

That image is of a 2008 Lincoln MKX dashboard, based on the Ford Edge/CD3 platform, so it would probably be both difficult and expensive to retrofit into an 07+ Expedition.

No Expedition nor Navigator came factory equipped with a cabin air filter, period.

First gen Expeditions and Navigators could use Ford's genuine accessory F150 cabin filter kit, F65Z-18D477-AA, which were expensive & didn't sell well. Back when the Expedition, F150, Navigator and Blackwood shared HVAC boxes. These were dealer or consumer installed, expensive, slow selling and long since discontinued. The relatively small number of vehicles with this accessory put them in the aftermarket parts catalogs because they did use Fords cabin filter F65Z-19N619-AB.

All a moot point in the 2007+ section.
