Toyota dealers dont need specialty techs and everyone does everything because Toyotas rarely have major transmission/engine issues they need to work on. Most of their work is maintenance items or brakes

We see nee fords with less than 20k miles needing complete transmission teardowns and or engine rebuilds ridiculous

Exactly right. I have had major services done on my Toyota but no repairs. I actually have one that needs timing belt/water pump replacements, valve adjustment, spark plugs but that was at 200kmi. Incidentally original spark plugs changed at 200k, looked brand new no deposits or build up.

Our Expedition MAX, a beast of a car, but needed 2 rear ends, new transmission, new shocks, all by 30kmi. Not to mention new heater hoses at 50kmi due to the plastic Y connectors? My Toyota still has original hoses…245kmi and 20 years old, I keep asking if they need replacement and they keep saying they’re fine.

Those times are gone unfortunately, even Toyota is currently fraught with issues.
