Can I swap a Platinum front grill into a Limited easily?

Hello, I'm looking to buy a 2018 Limited Max but I do like the Platinum front grill appearance. Is it possible to buy a Platinum front grill and just swap it into a Limited model? They appear very similar shape and such in the pictures I see.

I refuse to buy another vehicle with all the driver assist sensors and things on it. I absolutely HATE my wifes car with all these sensors and electronic things on them. It takes me 5 minutes to turn all this stuff off every time I get in her car.

What does the platinum have that the limited does not? I thought it had most of the same safety stuff.

Our platinum is perfectly fine. It bothers you that it beeps when you get close to stuff? It really is not intrusive at all. I will say you should just start to get used it. Vehicles are not getting dumber!

Lane correction can be turned off once and done. Same with adaptive cruise. As much as I would like to experience the auto braking, even once, it hasn't happened. It's not very sensitive.

I think this guy is interested in only one question... Does the grill from the Platinum fit on the front end of a Limited. I cannot answer that question, but wanted to get this thread back on track.

of course it would! the platinum is still an expedition! now what all it takes to do it is another story!!

if you are getting the LED headlamps, then i would say there is a good chance there would be minimal efforts. if you are getting the lame halogens, maybe a little more effort?!?! not sure.

Lane correction can be turned off once and done. Same with adaptive cruise. As much as I would like to experience the auto braking, even once, it hasn't happened. It's not very sensitive.

My wifes Ford Flex Limited has the adaptive cruise and so does my company car and they both default to ON every single time the engine is shut off, so I have to page through the menus to shut it off every single time I drive the cars. This Expedition will be my daily driver and I don't want those hassles. Thank you for the information on this also!

You can, but the parts aren't necessarily cheap from a dealer.

Most Ford parts websites have generic illustrations and list the grilles simply as 'style 1' for XL and XLT, 'style 2' for Limited, or 'style 3' for Platinum. The one you want is part number JL1Z-8200-PB. You will find these are just this side of $900.

According to my local parts department manager, the inner mounting structure, or backside of the grille assembly, is shared between the XL, XLT, and Limited, but the Platinum is different. Therefore, you cannot simply remove the painted/satin/chrome bars from an XL/XLT/Limited grille and replace them with the Platinums honeycomb material. Which is what I had hoped to be able to do.

Right, you added the packages to it as optional equipment. I will be avoiding these specific option packages!

Lane Keeping Assist is OFF by default every time you turn the vehicle on, as is cruise control. And if you don’t like adaptive cruise, you can change it to conventional cruise in the settings. The only thing that’s on is emergency braking, and I drive in NYC traffic where IbhI have to do a million last minute lane changes with mere inches to spare. The system is really not that intrusive.

It’s best you adapt. Pretty soon every vehicle will have these features.

If you left it off prior, it will be off the next time you start the engine. At least in my ‘18 platinum. But I like all the safety features, and wish lane keep was ON by default every time I start the engine.

If you set lane keep to on, doesn't it stay on unless you change it?
