My check charging and battery light continually comes on while driving. Mechanic checked both battery and generator and all is functioning properly. They ran a reset program (forget what it is called) to correct the voltage. I think it is called "reflashing"...Still continues to indicate check charging system...Help!!!

I haven't...It only stays on intermittently...after the reflashing it seemed to fix it, but shortly after it started again...Thanks for your response.

How old is the battery? Did he load test the battery? If not, how did he test the battery?

Do you have a aftermarket stereo in it? Mine was doing the same thing but i titghten the bolt on the top of the battery post where my amp connected and it fixed my problem. Just a thought

I have 2005 5.4L and I went through this same thing too. Charging light on, but measuring 13+ Volts DC. It is the alternator ... on it's way out. It may work okay, but the PCM is sensing the voltage is not right.
I changed out the alternator a few months back and no issues since.

tried that...doesnt and if it doesnt fix it...you'll have a new alt and wont have to worry about it
