any tips or tricks for cleaning fuel injectors one by one when I pull them off the motor?

I'll be replacing 8 plugs and 8 coils so I figured I may as well pull the injectors for a good bath while I'm at it (with the fuel rails off)

Thanks all

I do not believe you can reasonably clean the injectors yourself. Soaking them would have little to no effect at the needle/nozzle area as it would remain closed. You would also need to be carefull not to damage the electrical portion of the injector. There are fuel injector cleaning and balancing services available if you search online but at near $20 an injector almost better off getting new injectors. Your stuck with the cans you add to your fuel tank with questionable results.

I believe some garages have fuel injector cleaning service that run cleaner thru the fuel rails for a more potent concentration at the injector. Not sure if this can be done on the expy.

if you soak them in sea foam you will clean the nozzle and the inlet port... but as stated you will not get the needle and seat clean as they are in the closed position but it is better than nothing

A product like Seafoam works great. Proper cleaning can be done on the truck with the correct equipment. If the injectors are off the vehicle, send them to a professional. Proper cleaning includes sonic cleaning. It actaully vibrates the dirt free.

Should not be that expensive. Not sure if you can afford the down time. I have a local guy to me that charges 15.00 per injector plus shipping. He cleans them and flow tests them.

When I did the injectors on my Cobra I got a set of cleaned/flow tested units from the evilbay. They were Densos, not OEM but they work great and they cured a few issues I was having due to the 15 year old stockers being almost totally shot. IIRC it was $120 for the set of 8 plus shipping and I got $40 back for my cores so $80 not including shipping is pretty good.
