I just picked up my 2025 Platinum Thursday. My connected services have expired, and I haven't signed up yet. I do get a free 90-day trial. However, how to get Android Auto apps to work, when there is no button or choice to bring them up, like my Gen 4 had? I'm not sure if I need the connected services, as my phone, combined with radio and my USB full of music, were always fine. And I don't really need Wi-Fi and hot spot as my phone does that perfectly.

Android Auto is an app that is installed on current Android based phones like Samsung Galaxy. You don't need connected services if you use your phone as external device via USB or Bluetooth.

Google maps on my Android is (and always has been) 1000% better than the Ford provided mapping. I understand updating the SYNC mapping costs a bunch... WHY can't we just update it ourselves ( easily...without a PHD in Computer Science) while parked at home on my own WiFi ??? C'mon Ford, do better.

Many new vehicles, of all brands, are beginning to no longer being offer navigation for this very reason, that most people find Google Maps or Waze better and easier to use.
