Console Safe

Has any one installed a safe in the center console? It looks like Ford sells their own safe and I’m wondering if I should go with that or if there is another brand that people like better?

Just ordered the Ford product. I looked at other manufacturers but no one had a 2018 specific product. I'll let you know when it arrives next week.

Looks like they even spent the time to integrate the USB connection into the top of the safe to allow someone to plug in their device even with the safe locked. Nice idea!

LOL, not only can you charge your phone, but you can roll the USB ports with your fingertip until your favorite 4 digit number is displayed.

I was looking at this one with the USB connection integrated on the side. Checked my console and it only has the 12 V power connection, so the USB version must be for the F150 or Super Duty even though the fit of the safe is the same.

The ford safe is made by console vault!

In our '17 F350 I had a console vault - Its the same part number for our '20 Expy...so I un-installed it from the super duty and moved it to the expy...perfect fit.

there is just enough room in the corner edge of the safe door to pass a usb cable so its not necessary for anyone to build in USB ports. IMO the console vault is better built be cause it can't be lifted out the way its put together. ALSO the console vault door is rolled edge (not exposed edges locker down lid....the console vault door can not be pried open because of the rolled lip door.

STORY: I have a dash cam. My truck was towed and on the dash cam you can hear the tow truck driver BANGING on something metallic...and I mean he is beating the snot out of something....turns out he was beating on the console vault handle trying to break in to the safe...he was unable to get in and eventually just gave up!
