Speaking of sailboats. I know a guy that just bought Pete Conrad's sailboat (former NASA astronaut, 3rd man to walk on the moon) and is in the process of sailing it from Florida to Houston (he works at Johnson Space Center).

And we are home, minus obviously the new addition to family and here's to resetting and adding to my debt another 20 some odd years hopefully.

Here's to mommy and baby. Both healthy and happy to be home.

Sweet...gulf crossings are a blast. I've done it 3 times.

Well another 8-12" of snow coming our way, there's already an 1 on the ground but thankfully it's only the fluffy stuff nothing slushy. Gonna go test the quality of my A4WD set up going to Walmart with the wife to get some stuff though I really wanted to get a rotation since my back tires a far more worn than the fronts.

My cool story of the day:

There's a 90 degree turn on a street by my house, 2 lane street 45mph speed limit, I'm approaching the 90 and I noticed like 12 cars in the ditch just where the turn begins, so I decided let me slow way more down in there's black ice and sure enough i tap the brakes and i just slide stright, so I panicked and instead of slamming the brakes I floored the gas intentionally hoping the back end slides on the turn and Yayee it did.

Sadly still my 2 back tires landed in the ditch but I didn't hit anyone in the ditch, 4x4 low pushed me out without a struggle but man oh man my heart was pounding for a few minutes.

That's the first time I use 4x4 this season, I prefer 2wd just for the fun factor of fish tailing every turn.

So it's negative 11 outside. The high for tomorrow is -19... I gotta go to an outdoor job site tomorrow with an expectancy of spending 3-4 hours of work... Good knowing you all I'm gonna freeze to death tomorrow.

What a wonderful day I had

I was the last person at work so I had to lock up the shop, so first I went outside and started the expy, then did the lock out procedure at work, armed the alarm and when I walked out i broke the key inside the lock cylinder in the dead bolt, but that's after the door has locked so who ever is opening isn't gonna be able to open the lock, I figured I'll go the truck and get my needle nose pliers and pull the remainder of the key,

I go to the expy and I realized i locked my keys inside, my spare is inside the shop (go figure) so now I'm stuck outside with just a hoodie on in -10 weather.

Called the boss man told him what happened and he turned around to come open the garage door as my garage door opener was inside the expy. Long story short I was outside for 40 minutes and I couldn't feel my fingers or toes for a few hours after.

The neighboring companies were all closed and the nearest public store is 1.8 miles away... Yea waiting was the only option I had.

What a wonderful day Huh...

Bummer...I got hooked on the keypad entry when I had a Taurus. Can't tell you how many times that saved my ass :) Sorry to hear it man.

So 2 years ago I was working in Montana doing a ERP Software installation and also doing some Ethernet wiring, hardware setup etc for a client. I haven't driven in snow in 15 years at least, but its really not much worse than driving in a bad thunderstorm in Florida with 10" of water in the road. Anyway, this was like January 4th-5th 2015 when that winter storm advisory was going through. I fly in to Bozeman to work for a few days, then I'm driving servers to Billings for install. At the same time I'm waiting for a software developer (Indian guy) to get in town. His flight to Billings is canceled so I tell him to see if he can get to Bozeman and he can ride with me. I'm planning to go across the mountains before it gets dark.....flight delayed several times and the guy finally gets in around 11 pm. I think its like a 2 hour drive form Bozeman to Billings give or take. This guy has never seen snow. Been in the states like 4 months. Takes like 5 hours to make the drive. I did get a 4wd SUV thank god. There was 3 separate occasions I stopped in the middle of the highway because I couldn't see where I was going. Total freaking white out. This dude is white knuckling the whole way. I'm driving in the middle of both east bound lanes which is what everyone is doing because the visibility is so bad. If I so much as drift one way or the other this guy is getting nervous. So, ass ton of snow, my Florida ass is wishing I was home and the new guy is freaking out in the snow.

We get in and start work. About the 4th day still got lots of snow. Day 5 it gets into the 40s. Stuff starts melting. I'm thinking its going to be better than the -12 crap we been dealing with the previous days. No one clues me into what happens there when the weather turns a bit. Mid 40's during the day....single digit at night. So I walk in to the warehouse at 7:30 am, snow is melting yada yada but I'm not thinking anything of it. It does occur to me to ask why everyone pulls their wipers off the windshields though and I do the same. Been sunny all day, they brought me lunch life was good. Walk out of there at 9 pm. Clear and freezing ass cold. I'm talking to my wife on the cell phone step off the landing into the snow, next thing I know my feet are in the air. I'm on my ass sliding down the walkway. If I had seen this on youtube I'd have been laughing about it. The snow melting on the awning had been running the the snow all day int he walkway, at night it froze. Looking at it it looked like packed snow, not the complete sheet of ice that it was. I had the rental car keys in my hand. When I went flying I dropped them. No idea where they went. But my elbow is killing me, my back hurts, my butt hurts, I'm praying I didn't break my laptop which was in my backpack and all I got on a heavy hoodie, my ski jacket is in the car. Only thing I got for a flashlight is my phone. Somehow when I fell I managed to throw them under the SUV. I was about 10' from it when I went down. It was luck that it was like powder snow under it and I could see the impression. But it was 25 minutes of trying to find the damn things before I even looked there. Snow sucks.....ice on snow sucks worse ;) I feel your pain.

Watch the vid...lol Please note that at this point I was through the pass already and this really wasn't bad at all.
