Hello,

I don't post much, so I've been googling to see if I could find an answer before starting a thread.

We have a 2007 Expy w/ 132K miles. The temps are finally starting to drop here, and that seems to affect it on cold starts. My wife gets in and starts it for the 1st time each morning, and it shudders on light acceleration until the truck has warmed up. Once the truck has warmed up the shuddering goes away. She does not drive crazy -- no jack rabbit starts.

I felt it yesterday morning, and it felt similar to driving over rumble strips. It is not a bucking. So far no MILs have lit, although I can scan to see if there's any pending codes. I'm pretty good at keeping up with maintenance. All spark plugs were changed at 110K. We usually fill it up at Costco.

Thoughts?

I had a 2006 that did the same thing. I traded it rather than fix it after having a dealership diagnose it. They were convinced that it was a COP, but I argued that the COPs misfired after it warmed up when they were starting to go bad. My research led me to believe it was a leak in the intake manifold gasket over cylinder 1. That can be tested by spraying carb cleaner at the gap while running cold. If it sputters, that should be the problem. I was not willing to argue or let them trade out parts until they fixed it, so I traded it.
