Hey Everyone,

I have been having a creak when I turn the wheel and every time I hit a pothole or bump. I believe it's the ball joint since they are original with 166K on the clock. Is there anyway to test and see if its the ball joint or what other part it may be? It is only on the drivers side, so if it is a ball joint would it be better to replace both sides?

Thanks
Calvin

Lift front end off the ground, grab tire on both sides and try to move it side to side. If there is wear/play you will feel it 'chuck' a little. Observe components while doing this to determine what is worn. Also check for grease fittings if some things have been replaced. They may just need grease. Do the same top and bottom. Mine has 130,000 and I have replaced all 4 ball joints and one wheel bearing so far.
