D pillar removal

anyone ever removed theirs? (Mine is a 2010 Eddie Bauer expy)

My painted mirror caps turned out so well that now I am contemplating painting the d pillars. Did it on my '97 Eddie expo (moonlight blue, sort of a rare color), but painted them on the truck. 4 pieces, 2 each side on '97s, only 1 each side on 3rd gens. Hopefully there is a relatively easy way to remove and re-install, but I have not found it yet.

I will be watching this thread too. I have a dented D Pillar and I have obtained a replacement. It looks like we need to remove the side window and drill out some rivets. But haven't found out the real story yet.
