Only have 3000 miles on my 2020 Expedition Max. Twice now I have had a dead battery after towing. Any comments?

Get the battery tested. Once a car battery dies, it loses some of its capacity. If you've stopped and shut off the engine with the trailer hooked up, maybe the trailer drained the battery.

As Jason says, if you are using the round pin plug, there is an always on power pin, maybe something in the trailer is taking power all the time, or maybe the brake controller is not being switched off with the ignition (if you have an aftermarket brake controller) and that is flattening the battery. If this only happens when you have A trailer, then I suspect the issue is with the trailer not the car..

How long has the trailer been sitting?
My guess since you didn't give much info would be the emergency brake for the trailer.
If your Trailer has electric brakes it has a battery. It is possible that it was not properly charged (or bad) and keeps draining your truck battery trying to charge. I would start there.
