Hi Everyone,

Has anyone ever experienced dealership fraud?????? (Sorry for the long post, but I am frustrated)

We had complete brake failure on our 2024 SPP within 1600 miles of ownership and a dealership committed 100% felony fraud with us. The Electronic Brake Booster (EBB) completely failed and the dealership told us they replaced the part when they in fact did not touch the vehicle AT ALL! I have the receipt that states it was billed as warranty work and completed.

23 hours after receiving the vehicle back, the brakes failed at the busiest intersection in our town. Luckily, the brakes decided they wanted to slow the vehicle before hitting the car in front of it. From there is when I started my investigation into the part that they were supposed to be replaced.

Throughout my life I have always loved working on cars. I really did not care for the service advisor from the moment I met him. He spoke as if I was beneath him, knew nothing about vehicles, or anything about the problem that just happened. He was extremely arrogant and rude. This sparked my concern, and I immediately took photos of the part that they stated they were going to be replacing because I did not trust him. This gut feeling turned out to be correct...

Heck, I have a lot of detailed time stamped and location stamped photos before it went to service, after service, and the photos of the "said part" they removed from the vehicle. The part that they showed me they removed was BRAND NEW IN THE BOX. Nothing matched from the part that was on the vehicle when it went there for service in the first place. (I.E manufacturer dates, casting marks, casting indexes, scuffs, scratches etc.) The part was even manufactured 9 months after the vehicle was offered for sale. How can they remove a part that was manufactured after this vehicle already left the factory!?!?!?!

Has anyone ever experienced this or gotten FORD's attention? I cannot seem to get a single person at ford to care that (they and a dealership) could have killed my wife and children with the neglect that happened regarding my vehicle???? Yes, I have shipped a PDF document to their counsel, but no one has responded......

It just worries me that FORD has not taken action into this issue as it could have killed my family and others. These things weigh 5500ish pounds and are a death missile if the brakes are failing and their dealerships are committing fraud on replacement of failed components.

If interested, I would happily share all of the information I have regarding the documented fraud.

PS, the vehicle went to another Ford dealership, Engineers were involved, and the part was replaced. We have now put 2500 additional miles on the truck with no issues. momma's car.JPEG

You should share the information with an attorney that specializes in consumer fraud.

Complaining on the internet will not help you. Working with Ford by yourself will also not help you. Contact an attorney.

I appreciate your feedback on this, but I am not interested in suing the dealership as there is nothing to sue for. To sue for consumer fraud, I would have to have damages done to myself. There really is no damage to myself as no one was injured thankfully, nor do I have to pay for warranty work. If there were injuries or damages, just then there would be something to discuss.

However, fraud was committed against FORD as they pay the warranty bill that was billed to them. I am just trying to see if anyone else has experienced this and if there was anyone at FORD that is interested in the documentation as they are the ones with DAMAGES done to their corporation. I do have multiple lawyers in the family that can handle this matter, but they agree there is nothing to gain on my end with a lawsuit. Lastly, I am just not interested in any monetary gain out of this previous issue, just for FORD to be aware of the potential liability they have at these locations.

I worked for Chrysler Corp for several years as a fleet service zone representative. Warranty fraud was more than rampant - it was normal business. It got so bad that Chrysler put stickers inside door panels and other hidden places that dealers had to remove and submit to at least verify they looked in that part of the car. We also required some dealers to return to us every part they replaced.

I learned a lot in that job. The 1970's weren't the shining years of American automotive manufacturing. I haven't trusted an automobile dealer since then.

Humans lying goes all the way back to Adam and Eve. Horse traders lied, think of the reputation used car dealers have. If your anger is sufficient to drive you, you might contact your state’s attorney general’s office and perhaps they have a consumer affairs division. You can post on social media sites (Yelp?). You have word of mouth with family and friends. People and businesses lie sometimes because for them they have lied for so long that the difference between truth and honesty and lies is no longer perceptible to them. I get your anger and frustration, we humans really suck and are disappointing at times.

I've been a Ford man since 1957 and have owned 30 Fords, Mercury's, or Lincolns. But a year ago I crunched my wifes 22 Expd'n 4wd. Her insurance rental was a Tahoe and last May we took a loss trading in the 22 on a new Tahoe but we are both very happy we did. And, of course, we tell everyone why.

We should all give the names of dealerships that provide poor or excellent service. Those that provide poor service will end up with a bad reputation and will suffer loss of business. Those that provide excellent service will be rewarded with more business and prosper.
