My 2010 EB is at the shop right now as the shop did a transmission flush and filter replacement last week. When I got the truck back I noticed that if the truck has sat when I start it there is a "whoosh" sound coming from under the truck that goes away after 1-2 seconds.

I took the truck back for additonal work and asked them to check on the noise from the transmission and so far they are unable to determine what the sound is. They say the fluid levels are fine. They have reproduced the sound, but are unable to figure out what the cause is and are not even sure if the sound is from the transmission.

I've been going to this shop for years and would hate to burn my bridge there but I know for a fact the sound was not there prior to their work. Not sure what the outcome will be between them and I on this.

That being said, any ideas on what could cause issues with sound post filter or tranny flush?

Don't worry about the bridge!

Ultimately they can't figure it out. They put a guy on top of the engine and one below and still are unable to determine where the sound originates from. They said "maybe the starter".

Very frustrating as I have some long distance road trips towing my RV and do not need to worry about a potential problem. I guess I could replace the starter as the cheapest first action to see if it resolves the issue, but just no telling.

You could replace the starter and keep the old one as a back up since they don't last forever anyway.
