Does your parking brake make a noise when it engages?

Mine makes a fairly loud whirring noise that last about 2 seconds when I pull the electronic brake lever.

is this normal? My prior vehicles’ electronic parking brake did not make any noise when engaged.

Yes, because it is an electronic brake and not mechanical like older vehicles, it is normal.

It seems to be a bit louder in the Expy, but I have been in other newer cars where there is a whirring sound when the electronic brake is engaged.

I used to be in the habit of engaging it with my old cars because they were either hand brakes or the foot activated brake. For some reason, I can't seem to learn to engage it as I leave it.
