Greetings, hopefully someone can help.

Vehicle: 2003 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 165,000 just bought it.

Problem: Driver seat intermittently moves forward and back, not currently moving.

Details: There is a click when the switch is pressed for the front/back motor which indicates it is getting power, however it does not move. When it does move, it moves just fine (no gear stripping sounds). The seat DOES move up and down however.

Questions: Is it the switch, and how do I remove/test it? Any help I would really be appreciated.

P.S., I tried "tapping" it with a hammer to no avail.

Had the same issue on my 2004. Mine would sometimes work if I raised or lowered the seat then tried forward/back. I vacuumed the tracks with a shop vac that I taped 1/2" copper pipe to the end of for better access. Then sprayed with brake cleaner and scrubbed. No problems since. If a coin falls in the track this can happen.

Thanks for the info. So you sprayed the rails with brake cleaner? Any lube on them after that?
