Worked fine since new in 2012, until just today now eject button results in disk error message, will try plastic card with sticky tape. Is the player removal easy? Will the top of the player come off to manually remove the paper label DVD? If I have to buy a used one what years will interchange? Now here is a stupid question: Will a later model read blue ray DVD's and plug in to my entertainment stack? (Mine will not read Blu Ray DVD's only regular video DVD's.)

Probably not going to find one that's plug and play that plays Blu-ray. On some cars if you hold the eject button down for 10+ seconds, it will eject a stuck disk. Not sure if it will work on yours, but worth a shot.

Had a 2012 Expedition Limited. They had to send the unit to somebody to remove. I don't use any paper labels now...only marks-a-lots.

Try pulling negative battery cable, totally powering down system. If it doesn't pop out reconnect negative. If all else fails pull unit from dash.

Thanks guys, I now have something else to try that I did not even consider and if my unit is like the 2008 model, removal can be quick and done by a radio shop while I wait. As I have a pdf version of the Ford 2012 Service Manual, I will study the radio stack removal section and see what is involved.
