Driving to work at 4 am this morning, my truck randomly threw the “wrench” icon, lost all power, dropped to idle, and refused to move until I shut it off and back on again. Happened three times in my 12-mile drive to work. Did some stuff at work, drove home, and it happened twice more. Code showed a P2112. Which is basically the actual throttle opening is out-of-spec with what was requested of the TB. Not what I’d call common, but not unheard of either on the EB. Typically appears when towing a trailer, and virtually nonexistent on vehicles not towing.
Returned the PCM to stock, drove around til the wrench came back on (that required 30 miles of driving and playing with throttle position, so clearly my tune played a factor in the wrench appearing), took it to the dealer around 11, and at 1215 left with a new throttle body installed under warranty. Put my tune back on at the dealer and drove all the way home with no issues.
Just a heads-up if any EB owners experience something similar.
