Having a hard time going from the 3.73 rear end to ta 3.31. Which tuner do you recommend? I was going to look at Mike and five star also, but I am not sure that i will be doing any other mods though. I realize this will not change ratio, but just need a little more punch when pulling in to traffic. Loving the new ride and waiting for them to fix the remote start (expected), Mike.

Thanks Chappy. I spoke with Mark today and he did not disappoint. Unfortunately the only one available for 2011 is the basic Evo HT. He said it has the same tunes as the CS and CTS but just not the gauges etc. He also told me to just order it online and verified one of the places I was looking as authorized. He said to contact him still if I had any questions. He did not know when the CS or CTS would be available for the 11. Guess I will have to decide if it is worth $350, but I know I am having a real hard time adjusting to the lack of whole shot this thing has right now. It makes a lot of noise, but does not take off. I don't expect it to be fast, but I expected at least better performance than my 06. He said that it would definitely help. Thanks again, Mike.

I've never done any sort of performance mods on any of my vehicles. Can you guys explain how these work? Are they safe for the engine -- do they affect reliability or warranty coverage? The EVOHT is the only one available for my 2007 model, and it's priced at $367 on their website. Is the special pricing significantly better?

Sorry for all of the questions!

Ordered the Superchips Cortex today and should have it tomorrow. I will keep ya'll updated. Sucks though because we are making about a 300 mile trip this weekend, but my parents are borrowing the Expy for a trip they are going on. I am more interested on in-town driving anyway. Thanks for all of the input from you guys. I had ordered the Edge but cancelled it, and spoke with 5 star - decided on the basic Superchips for our application. Thanks, Mike

you plug them up inside to the input thing at the driver seat...right under the steering column and follow the prompts...they dont affect reliability but will affect warranty if dectected because they will say its due to altering the state of the truck from wich they designed it...but you can get a programmer that offers powertrain warranty...thats about the price for your any programmer...i paid $400 for mine...in the event you need to take your truck to the dealership...you can restore the settings back to factory and they wont know unless they search to see if the programming had been tampered with and that requires more extensive work to my knowledge...

jason the programmer works by plugging into the OBDii port. You can use them to change certain setting/parameters within the computer. You can change things like shift points/firmness, tire size, get rid of speed limiter/governor. most come with canned tunes for things like 87 octane performance, 91/93 octane performance(depends on part of country for 91 or 93), towing, and gas save mode. you can also check/clear cel codes.

We have had good luck w/superchips.

All of our Expeds (except mine) and our 1/2ton dodge CC at the sheriffs office are chipped. It really woke up the vehicles...we get better mpgs, much faster acceleration, etc.

We have no complaints

Have had the Cortex in for a little bit now and am happy with it. I woild say all around driveability and the shifting is 10 times better. I like the performane tune the best, but the economy tune is not bad either. Have not really seen any mileage gains - but I have not seen any losses and I do not drive conservatively. I will probably go back to the performance tune after this tank - but gas just jumped 25 cents here in the past 2 days. I am going to play with it some alos and see if i can set a rev limiter (i believe) because I would rather it shift at around 4700 (I think that it near the top of the torque band) instead of winding all the way up when I hammer on it. Real pleased so far though. It just makes the Expy more fun to drive.
