So I converted to electric fans using the Windstar setup, so far it works very well only running off of one fan!

But, the large fan I'm assuming is a 2 speed fan, it has a 3 wire plug, when applying voltage to each of the positive leads, the fan will run, but will run at the same speed on both.

The funny thing is when I applied voltage to the single speed smaller fan, it seems faster than when I applied voltage to either of the windings on the large fan…

Is the second winding a spare? How do I achieve the higher speed, put voltage to both at the same time?

I am not familiar with that set up to know if one fan was just for AC etc. They do sell fan controllers that can tap into the AC and also have temperature probes for high/low. Some factory fans are variable speed not just high/low but I am not sure how they are triggered.

For a while, I had a Volvo with a 5.0 in it. I used a controller from DSS.

I have a controller and everything all set up, it changes speeds as it is a pwm controller. Just wondering if I hook both leads up to achieve the higher speed the motor can produce...
