Not sure if this should be here or engine?? I have an 04 5.4l expedition for just over a m:nth now... I replace #3 coilplug and 2 days later it has more issues... while driving at any speed it will intermittently sound like a grinding under the drivers side floor/front wheel area then a loud thud, then the battery gauge spikes high and the battery light pops on and gauges go out.... the alternator was reading over 15.2 so we switched it and now the new one wont charge and battery light still on? Alternator is good as we used two new ones and same result.... Battery is good and checks out.... any ideas would be appreciated!!! Thanks for ur help

Get the Ford wiring book for your year and start trouble shooting the starting and charging system. You may have a worn or burned section of the harness.

Driver side, under hood, top of the wheel well on my 99. May be in a different spot on the 2nd gens.
