Engine drops hard putting in to drive

Engine drops hard putting into drive maybe every 5 to 10 times I have to go. We just bought at 2021 Limited Max with ~40k on it. When we test drove a few times didn’t experience the issue until about 3 weeks ago.

I have a 2020 Expedition. I've found that if I hope in, start it and shift, it's always a bit rough. If I wait just 15-20 seconds, it is generally a smooth start from parking into drive. Who knows why

Wondering what you mean exactly by "engine drops hard". Is there a loud clunk, or does the engine die, or drop RPM's or what?

It's a very common problem.

Wondering what you mean exactly by "engine drops hard". Is there a loud clunk, or does the engine die, or drop RPM's or what?

No doesn’t die. When I go from park to reverse to drive the entire engine block bounces and shakes the car.
