And check to make sure the plug itself is tight. I just had a couple misfire codes do to the plugs working themselves loose.

Make sure there is no coolant leaking in the area. I don't think that issue covered any 2nd gens but it doesn't hurt to check. Still I would fault the plug too. That is the logical next step.

My engine lights been on for 3 years. Just put some black tape over it and forget about it. The coils go bad all the time on the 5.4. any little hickup and the lights on. If it runs then awesome.

Did you clear the code and it came back, or did you just leave it be?

Cleared it a million times then gave up. Runs just fine for the most part. Stumbles at idle some times some times not. Heat issues changed alot still having them. im accually trying to find a new motor it might be cheeper and more reliable in the long run. Want to keep this truck forever as theres zero rust and drives good. Thinking on how to convert to old school 460 carbed motor for better fuel economy and performance. No polution control hear so can put in something without all that crap and still ride the same. i only get 14 miles to the gallon anyway so a 460 isnt far off that.:laughing1: But a 500hp one would make this thing roll!! ditch the computer, converter and all that crap that make for trouble. Probably just have to strip everything and get a doner pickup for all the heater and tranny stuff? hmmmm?

isn't this interesting.
He comes on here on April 10, 12 days ago and asks a question about his problem.
7 people have replied to that question and He hasn't been back on since.
I guess he must have had a really big problem.
Was important enough to ask but wasn't important enough to check back. or even to say thanks

Actually I just got a CEL so I'm going to have to get it read and see what it calls out.

It could be the connector or possibly the fuel injector or even something else.

Hope ya don't mean me...:biggun: Kidding. Im going to replace all the coils and plugs next week on mine. Its very intermittent. Ive had mine for 8 years and plan on keeping her life. All payed for. BTW I rented a 2014 ExPO limited yesterday. Nice!! I loved the leather seats but a little sluggish compared to mine when ya punch it. But all in all super luxo!

Hey guys thanks for all the input!! I did all that was suggested, still having the same codes reading. I'm going to change the connection to the coil next, and see what happens!! Pardon me for the delayed response, but i guess u don't know how life is, (THIS IS FOR BEDRCK46) cant run back n forth to a computer everyday...

I understand that you can't run back every day but taking the time you took to get back 12 + days and check is a little bit much don't you think? I do know how life is but if something is important enough to ask I don't wait that long (a month) to find a answer
