Unable to get a straight answer from the dealers information I will ask here. What is the material that the engine is made from. Is the block cast iron and the cylinder heads? Or are the cylinder heads made from Aluminum?

This factory site states both are cast iron..

Then when you click on the 5.4L engine "link" in the specs it tells you they are a mix with the head being aluminum? I guess I could look but I am sure you guys know...

A little ways down on the web page you have directed us to reveals the true story. Click on the hyperlink on the engine size under "towing", and you will see that the heads are as you suspected...aluminum.

"With 260 hp and 350 lb. ft. of torque, Expedition’s SOHC 5.4L Triton® V8 will delight you with all the muscle and low-end grunt you’ll need for off-roading and towing (up to 8950 lbs. when properly equipped). Features a cast iron block and aluminum cylinder heads"

Yea that is the same link that I talked about in my post. That is the problem. That is the whole reason I wrote the post. There is a conflict on the website. When you click the engine "link" under "towing" or anywhere else on the page for that matter (since there are several places) they take you to that engine page that states the engine is both iron and aluminum. Yet the specs say both are cast iron.

So the same question still stands, which information is correct, regardless of what information is on the website.
