engine stopped

Wy wife had a small issue with the expy this morning.
after 5 min driving she slowed down and the engine stopped.....
turn key off and wanted to restart, lights ad the dash turned on but engine would not turn.
After a couple of times the expy started and was driving perfect.
She had it a couple of times before this year.

Anyone an idea??

I'm waiting for my OBDII interface so reading a trouble code is not possible and the CEL is always on.

When she tried to turn it on, would it at least crank, or was the engine completely dead?

No cranking, all the lights in the dash came on when she turned the ignition again but no cranking

My initial guess would be a bad ground or corroded/bad battery.

Thirst I'm gonna check the battery and all the groungs.

The theft indicator wasn't flashing was it? Do you guys have another key? I know it's intermitent, but maybe switch keys and see if it's still doing it?

Nope, we don't have a spare key, only one with a chip.
Can you delere the theft indicator when you loose that one??

Next question, where are the ground connections in the expy?

My 1st thought was the battery as well. Did you replace that?

I dind't replace the battery.
The battery is about 1,5/2 years old, could be bad but it works fine all the time.

Maybe it's a bad ground. The compass/mpg display on the roof flashes from time to time.

Think it's a ground under the dash but I have no idea where it is.
