Yesterday after driving my 2021 Expedition 20 or so miles I stopped for a few minutes, shutting off the engine. After 5 minutes or so, I tried to restart the engine and only got several error/warning messages starting with Coolant over temperature limit (or similar). I've never had this occur before in the year or so that I've had the vehicle. There was no high temperature indication before I stopped, and the vehicle has been well-maintained. I tried repeatedly to restart the engine with the same result. I also couldn't shift the transmission into neutral to push the vehicle to a better location. After several minutes (<10) I tried again and the engine started normally with no error messages, and the coolant temperature was normal. After returning home, I looked for OBD fault codes and found none with my Ancel unit. As anyone seen this behavior before and determined what the cause was?

That's a good bet.. Batteries nowadays can test good but still have issues. Also because no one has the equipment to do an actually load test. It's all those electronic testers that report state of charge.

This is simplistic but it surprisingly helps sometimes... clean up the grounding points and tighten/clean up anything attached to the negative terminal.
This ^
You should always check to make sure the power is getting to the components before trying to diagnose.

Otherwise you could just be chasing your tail for nothing.

Voltage drop test with a digital volt meter is really easy to do without even having to undo one connection.

You can get it tested correctly at your auto parts store (Auto Zone..ect) quick and easy for free.

I have tightened the clamps on both battery terminals and have not had the no-start with error messages recur. Maybe that was the problem. Thanks for the suggestions.

Also, reset your BMS, just in case it wasn't reset when the new battery was installed a year ago.
Turn the ignition on, don't start vehicle, flash the high beams five times, then press the brake pedal three times,
look for the battery light to flash, which indicates the BMS reset is complete. Turn off the ignition.
