If I had to give up my Expys for a GM product I would only do it if I could get my '03 GMC Sierra Extended Cab Step Side Short Bed back. It was an SLT model and had every available option minus the sunroof. That truck was truly bulletproof. The only reason I got rid of it is because I went back to college full time and wasn't working. Couldn't afford to keep gas in it. I have seen it around town a couple of times and the guy that bought it from the dealer I traded it in at has used and abused the hell out of it. Who buys a beautiful truck like that and turns it into a work truck? I don't have a whole lot of room to talk though. My work truck is an '06 Expy Limited but it has a ton of miles on it and I got a better deal on it than I could have a good pickup truck of that vintage. Pick ups around here are through the roof for some reason. But I digress. Since getting into the Expys I am in love with them. They are great trucks but I wouldn't pay what they want for a new one these days. I think the last time I looked an entry level model was going for forty something thousand. I can buy a small house with that kind of money. Good Grief. I'll keep my two '06's till they kick the bucket.

I've had an 03 Expy EB for years and I still like it. Great truck.

I know what you mean by the cost of the new trucks. Priced are getting insane.

I'm wondering what engine is in the Altima. I have a 10 Maxima SV loaded with the 3.5 and can sometimes get 30 miles per gallon. The car is quick and handles good.

My Altima is an '08 S model. It has the 2.5 4 Cyl. It was available with the same 3.5 as the Maxima but when I got the Altima I was trying to be super frugal with fuel while in college. It averages about 18-20 around town and if I remember correctly it was getting about 27 or 28 on my last long (freeway) road trip. I think my next vehicle purchase is going to be a new Maxima. I drove one a while back while the Altima was in the service department for an oil change and I fell head over heels for the car. That wasn't helped by the fact that the salesman got keys to a fully loaded model.

I've never liked new cars, used cars tell a tale. And I don't feel bad parting a used car out if she gets to be too much to fix.

With a new car, YOU get to create the tale it tells and then maybe at some point share that tale with someone else.
or you get stuck with a huge payment for a pile of shit you can't just walk away from. at least I can attempt to make my money back on a used car I paid 500$ for.

sounds like a lemon of a truck or one that obviously had been poorly maintained or abused when it was newer. I'll jump on the band wagon and wave the Blue Oval flag by saying my 05' (5.4 2 valve) has had ZERO mechanical issues aside from a couple of dried/cracked vacuum hoses that kept throwing lean codes, we're now @ 186K miles and i bought with around 14K so pretty good track record thus far, meanwhile our work trucks (Silverado's) were loosing transmissions, radiators and faulty catalytic convertors on the regular.

My 2 Cents, good luck to you bud.
