Hi gang,
Wifey complained that the car was suddenly louder (only when I asked her how her car was running, of course). Sure enough there is a leak at the exhaust flange just upstream of the muffler. It was 11 pm, but from what I could tell, there are no exhaust flange bolts at that location! Not sure if it's been that way since we got it used a few years back, but it wouldn't surprise me.
In any case, need to replace them. I found the Dorman 03117 studs/nuts which, according to Dorman, is the right part. I don't see any springs like I was expecting from when I replaced my 94 Explorer cat-back. I'm assuming they're not needed, but wanted to double check. Also, I'm trying to figure out the orientation of the stud. Is one of the flanges threaded?
Thanks!
