OK so I have had a c-bomb glasspack on the truck for about a year now using the stock tailpipe. I plan on redoing the exhaust this summer after I start my new job, but in the meantime I would like it to be a little louder. If I dump the exhaust with a turn-down right after the glasspack, am I going to run into problems with rusting on the frame if its like that for only a few months? Also I am aware of the CO in the cabin issue, but i dont have working A/C, so my windows are always open in the spring and summer. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

You will have no issues with the frame rusting. As for the CO worry, I ran my truck with the exhaust dumped like you are thinking for quite awhile. Just don't sit still in traffic for hours at a shot. Not a problem.

Granted, something that you may want to ponder though is since you are running the cherry bomb muffler, cutting off the extra bit of the tail pipe may drop the backpressure on the engine too mcuh and it can start affecting your low end grunt. It really depends on if you got one of the X's with 2 or 4 cats. If you have 2 cats, then it is more likely a problem than one with 4 cats.

Alright thanks for the reply, I figured having it that way for only a few months probably wouldn't harm it, but better to be safe and check. Mine has the 4 cats, and I ran it dumped like that for about a week after I put it on and didnt notice much of a difference in low end, but I will pay attention again to see if it drops. Thanks again.

Keep in mind.. you want louder.. fine.. but louder out back of truck and louder under you are Two complelty differnt things...That extra 5-8 feet of pipe to pipe it out the back will be huge. I have had trucks and cars with Sidepipes, and stacks.. and lets just say .. each time i regretted it on long drives..

you want it louder then but a bigger tip on it. the bigger and longer the tip the louder it is. tips are amplifiers for your exhaust. i was always afraid of them cause of rust, but you can get SS or Chrome tips. my dads chrome one is rust, but its still loud.
