When I purchased my expedition the truck had the cargo management option. T really like the addition of the shelf, great for ever day use.8BE40B0A-384A-49CC-895D-1D8C4F66B562.jpeg

I don’t use the shelf at all because I have the third row down all the time and have a BoB stroller back there and the weather tech rear mat but I foresee the shelf being handy when we are past the stroller stage. I will add that I originally thought the opening hatch window was too small but I’ve found myself using it a lot! I’m sure it will be even more handy when used wit that shelf.

The shelf is a great idea on the standard length, but is 100% useless on the Max because it doesn’t touch the third row. In other words, they didn’t make the shelf larger to fill the space the way it does on the standard length. Oh well.

Weird, so there a 12 inch gap between the shelf and the 3rd row? That sounds useless unless you only use the shelf while not moving.

You are correct about the gap and the uselessness. Glad I didn’t have to pay extra for the “cargo manager” as that’s really all it is (it comes standard with the platinum trim).

Well...maybe I am missing something. I’ll fiddle with it.

I think it means you need to raise the second panel to get the first raised up.

For the small shelf, there is a ledge near the back you can flip up to keep shit from sliding off.

Why is your cubby home covered up? Mine is open.

@Yukon Joe

My cubby is exposed, sorry it looked like it wasn’t in the picture. But essentially you agree that there’s no way to make the shelf reach all the way to the third row in the Max, correct?

Oh I like that extra storage compartment the MAX has underneath the floor!

It's not much, but certainly helpful. Especially for things you leave in the Expy all the time, flashlight, gloves, first aid kit, etc...

Looks like ther spare tire release is in there as well. Sure would have been nice to get a matching spare and tire. Neither are the same as what came on all four corners. Guess I'm spoiled, as that is the way the Raptors come.

This is the cubby I'm referring to. Yours looks covered up.

I keep my 12V air compressor there. It's a great cubby as it's nice and deep. My guess is that's where the subwoofer goes when you buy all those extra speakers in the fancy trims...

That's what I was thinking, looks like a speaker cover.

So the Navi doesn't have that?
I don’t have the long wheelbase version so I have the one compartment that the shelf is on, underneath that is the jack and one empty space I keep some emergancy tools, tire plug kit, and a small electric air compressor for the tires.
