I say go for it and herculiner the entire floor. Especially since you already have the truck all apart right now. It doesn't get any more rugged or convenient having the whole floor like that!
As far as the noise goes--It is supposed to be noisy; its a truck!
And if it gets too loud, just crank up the radio!

amen. i will most likely do the whole floor. i dont mind if its loud, the louder the better. i occasionally have the wife and kids in there, for now at least, and i dont want it to be too loud for them. once i finish, it will be strictly daddy's play truck!

Have you looked into fabric paint for the black seats. I know it sounds stupid but they did it on "Trucks" once. They took old Explorer leather seats and painted them flat black. The paint is made for leather/vinyl and they looked good for cheap. If it doesn't turn out or last long then you could cover them. By the way I LOVE the all black look. You are doing a great job on your build up.

thanx a lot jeff. truck is slowly coming along nicely. yeah, i just heard about that fabric paint on the virtualford forum i belong to (great forum as well as this one by the way). i am looking into how much and how long it will last. i dont mind having to recoat as long as it isnt every other month. next project is to get the new headliner in and then finish the interior so i can put new stereo and subs in there to jam out to when wheeling. then its time for the exterior with a new hood in mind, more lift and tires (might go the same route as walnuts unless i decide to save for the sas) and then a fresh (cheap) coat of paint.

I used that paint on my Scout. It lasted 12+ years on the vinyl and cloth areas. It covered great, grey over the factory blue. It only scratched off on the center console lid (plastic) but I think it may have been my poor prep work.

I don't know what your plans are for the headliner but here is the one I put in my blue Suzuki Sidekick. It is fleece from a fabric store and it went in great and lasted a long time. I think they make the same pattern in black/grey camo. Just a thought.

grantikal, i used krylon camo black from walmart for the plastic pieces. i also used walmart undercoat spray for some of the high traffic pieces like door sills and whatnot. for the floor i used the herculiner roll-on. its about $90 for the kit. comes with 2 rollers, a brush, and a gallon of the "goo". i only used half a gallon and did 2 layers. didnt even need the 2nd brush.

as for premium sound...if you dont need to fold your 2nd row down, i suggest you read "custom sub box" in the stereo section. you can buy a custom box made for expy's to go under your 2nd row. check out that thread.

how does the paint on the plastic hold up against scratches? I am interested in painting certain parts of mine (tan interior) and I want to paint everything that is brown, black and leave all the tan alone. I just don't want scuffed dash because of my kids or something.

Btw, there is a guy that owns a 06 Roush mustang down here and he did the line-x spray on the whole OUTSIDE of his car. I would NEVER do that to a mustang (or any street car), but it seems kinda cool in a mad max way for a purely off road truck. Ever thought of that?

I was planning to do my iner trim also. Just have to get so free time to do it.. not looking forward to sanding all the trim smooth.. but it should look good when its done.. Your looks sweet with the Matte Black.. SWEET...

some pieces hold up better than others. i havent had any problems with the scratches yet. on the parts most touched and prone to scratching, i used an undercoat spray to make it stronger. so far, it seems to be doing its job. all the other pieces that dont see that much traffic i just used krylon camo flat black paint from walmart. only thing i would suggest is sand down any imperfections the best you can cuz when you spray with the camo, it will show most of the imperfections.

havent finished the plastic yet. havent had the time to have the dash all apart yet. im hoping soon though. paint seems to holding up very well though.
