My work truck is an 09 Exped 4x4. I have a roof mounted golight that is AWESOME for searching fields, t-stops, etc but not that great for driving (especially down county roads).

I am looking to get some more lights for my rig. I see A LOT of county roads and out here we have A LOT of deer, hogs, etc on the highways. I need to be able to see the sides of the roadways (for animals and crap) and also as far ahead as possible (for other roadway issues).

What options have y'all been using? What would y'all recommend for my situation? one of those led light bars? multiple off-road lights (combo of spot and flood)?

I did a search and most of the threads were either roof mounted (cant do that due to my light-bar) or mounted behind the grill (cant do that because that is where our sirens are mounted).
thanks.

I am looking pretty hard at these guys but they are a little more than I want to spend.

I love the Rigid LED lights I use a pair as back-up lights, super bright, also have pair mounted on the front of wife's Vibe for backroad driving.

maverick, I would say to get yourself one of the bull bars and most of them come with 4 tabs for mounting more lights. That would put the lights up at about the headlight area without having to mount them in the grille.

You have the right idea for the light styles for what you are after. I would say to get two pencil beam lights (aka, spots) and put those on the center tabs and shine them straight down the road. Those should give you plenty of reach out to light things up. Then the outside tabs, you mount some flood lights.

If you are really wanting to light up the world, pull the bulbs out of the housings and replace them with 80W HID bulbs. These have the equivalent light of about a 200W bulb. They are very, very bright. The trick is, you have to wire up each of these lights to their own 40 amp relay due to starting surges. Once running they are down around 7 amps. So, not that big of a load once running and when they start, the truck will handle that surge just fine. Most off-road housings will handle the head produced by the 80W HID bulb with no issues (most are rated for a 100W halogen bulb).
