Extreme Window Fogging

I have a 2020 ford expedition. I live in WI. We have been having issues with significant window fogging. We have trialed leaving the car outside, leaving windows open. Our defrost works and is warm, but the entire vehicles windows are fogging and stay fogged no mater how long we drive. We also use the air exchanging button. Is there anything within the vehicle that could be wrong? Has anyone else had this problem?

You have a water leak in your car, causing interior high humidity. Check under the mats and all the carpet areas to see if you can find an area saturated with water.

Or, are you having a lot of snow - and people getting in the vehicle with snow on their shoes (causing high humidity due to the melting snow)?

First up disclaimer: I do not have my Expy yet. However, I have encountered similar in other vehicles. If the AC is not on, you still might have your heater on and not clear a foggy windshield or side window. Relates to high level of humidity in the car as has been suggested by other posters above. You can run the heater (via setting desired cabin temperature) and AC together in most modern vehicles. That allows for appropriate ambient temperature but low humidity (AC does take out humidity) and should help clear your windows better. The AC button is different from the master button turning on the HVAC, even in the Expy - next to the right temperature control knob. If this does not sort it out, I really would be concerned you have moisture somewhere in the vehicle.

Extreme humidity. Run the a/c on high for 20 minutes and see if that makes a difference. Are you smelling anti-freeze?

Its wet inside.
My house garage is damp and mine does that too if I park it in that garage. My detatched garage is extremely dry and it absolutely never fogs from being in there. You need to dry it out somehow.........

Install/run a Dehumidifier in the garage to include parking this EXPY near it with the windows down all night. Then run your heat with the A/C on like mentioned above.

Thank you all. No water leak. No antifreeze smell. We defiantly have snow, but not brought into the car excessively and on weather tech like mats. I have thought about dehumidifier and will trial that next. Thank you all for your suggestions. I’m glad to hear others are not having major issues. We do have a in floor heated garage. It stays pretty dry other then when we have big snow storms, but I’m hoping that is it!

I have thought about dehumidifier and will trial that next. Thank you all for your suggestions. I’m glad to hear others are not having major issues. We do have a in floor heated garage. Are you running the climate control on "AUTO"? The thing is set up to do a pretty good job defrosting/defogging itself, and I wonder if trying to override what it wants to do is causing some of your issue.

One other note: there is a tiny vent on the dash near where the "START" button is and my understanding is that is a sensor for the interior temp/humidity; if you have something blocking that (a phone mount or something) it may be interfering with how the vehicle is sensing the climate in the cabin. Not saying that's the case, just something that popped in my head.

Its wet inside the car. Sunroof leak, AC drain leak, wet floor mats, something is wet in the car. Moisture is the only way to make fog. figure out what's wet.

You have a water leak… real question is from where? Maybe the windshield? Is it OEM, or was it replaced (look for logo)… or sun roof drains.. they sell a tube brush on Amazon.. those are the most common to, IF your a 100+% sure it’s not coolant… which I’d bet it is… doesn’t take much 210 degree water to cause steam

Have you crawled around and felt the carpet throughout the truck? Does the "fog" have a oily feel to it or a smell?
