So my '24 Stealth Performance Limited Max is getting some accessories installed. I needed skid plates so went to Ford website and found the following, which says it will fit my vehicle. Dealer ordered it and went to install and said it won't fit; I told dealer to call Ford and see what they say. Ford says it is for a Raptor and won't fit. Dealer says his service guys might be able to fab up mounting brackets to make it work. Thoughts on the fabrication option?

I also had them install the other skid plates available to cover as much of underside of vehicle as possible.

Since the parts websites clearly say that this shield will fit your vehicle, I'd be pissed at Ford (yeah, I know, get in line).

6 and 7 on part blow out fit. I put them on my 2020. For 7 you have to take the bracket off for the P.O.S. fabric thing and install a clip in hole and 2 more screws. Other then that, it fits. I elected not to put part 1 in to keep that front area open to see up through the bottom and replaced 6 for the other fabric P.o.S. This bolts right in with existing bolts. Just a reminder if you have Ford points use them for helping offset cost.

Update. Got the brackets ordered. Dealer was able to get everything installed EXCEPT the front skid plate! The brackets allow the front to attach perfectly but there is nothing for the rear of the plate to bolt into?!?! See pics. Any ideas? At this point, I'll need to get a bracket or fabricated. I'm in suburban Chicago. Any recs for a local shop are welcomed.

I think all in it was like $2,400 for all the plates, install included. The big $$$ is the front plate.

What do you plan on doing to need all these skid plates? Just curious.

So mystery might be solved; looks like dealer can't wipe their a%$ without explicit instructions. Evidently, they did not order Part #3 in the exploded diagram view (and now I am trying to fiund the part #). Evidenttly, Part #3 is what the front skid plate bolts to.

As for what I am doing with them, wantedd to protect underside of vehicle as I travel two-tracks in bvoth Michigan's U.P. and South Dakota. Not exactly rock crawling out in Moab but wanted to be sure I didn't tear out anything when traveling "back of beyond."

So the support plate did not work; back to "square one" - going to see if RCI center piece might be able to work with it.

That's insane, $2400 for stamped parts that a Ford parts counter can't figure out. not sure what year your expy is (don't see it in a signature) but my RCI plates have been awesome. They are ridiculously heavy and well made. After 5 years I'm starting to see little tiny pockets of rust (only where the bolts and washers have rubbed off the powder coating) but i just spray some rust stop there and move on. They also have some in Aluminum which obviously wouldn't rust. They are beasts, so when I do have to do work under this thing they are a pain to remove, but it adds like an hour to a project.

Having said that, I know there are variations in the years and what worked on mine hasn't worked for others, and the opposite is true as well. Mine saved me from a retread thrown off a truck that I couldn't avoid and had to run over. Pretty sure that would have torn off half the undercarriage at highway speeds. I had to make a couple super small modifications here and there, drill an extra hole, use an extra speed nut, etc, but good luck on the parts.

We travel some of the same roads.....(UP, SD) After filling the felt/aluminum foil insulator POS under the transmission on my '20 FX4(??!!) full of cornstalks in SD in 2021, I put the Raptor steel replacement on it (HL3Z7222E) which is now going for $123.60 over the counter in MI, which I consider a bargain. The same part goes for over $170 in NC. I know this because i just ordered one for my '22 F150 yesterday after finding the felt one under it starting to deteriorate.

So I broke down and ordered the full RCI kit for the '15-current F150 and going to try and make that work. So frustrating.

I just bought a 2023 Expedition police SSV directly from Ford. It has the factory skid plates if you need any information. They are not very thick, and unfinished steel with rust pocks on them. The transmission is only covered with the fiber diaper, and I'll probably replace that with a steel Ford Raptor plate. No more skid plate for the fuel tank either.
