I have a 2000 Ford Expedtion 2WD 5.4L V8 and I am having major issues when I go to start it up. When I turn the key it makes a very loud grinding noise and takes atleast 5-10 times before it actually starts up. I had the starter replaced when this first started about 2 months ago and it continues to make that noise and I believe that it is getting worse. I haven't had the money to get it fixed but will shortly because of my income tax return. A couple of my buddies have told me it's the flywheel but I am not 100% sure. If anyone has any input on this matter it would be great. Thanks in Advance!

On just about every auto trans, you can pull off the trans cover (bottom of the bell housing) and look at he flywheel teeth.
